Project Overview
Coding Club is a website where users can check up on gaming events, sign up and chat on forums, or look at games that were made during the 80s.
Approach
My team first gathered and decided on making a website due to the team’s inexperience in creating games. Then the team decided what we needed and who will be assigned to which role. The team assigned me to make the games page and all of its contents. The team then established a dropbox so we could exchange code and other assets. When the team started, we realized we needed to put up a navigation bar so we could get around the site more easily, so I quickly created a placeholder navigation bar using Bootstrap. Back on the games page, I created a form that displayed a list of popular 80s games and linked them to separate pages. So I then researched popular games during the 80s and saved screenshots and descriptions of them. Afterwards, I designed each of the pages since the team had limited time, I decided that instead of having a unique design for each page, I’d keep it consistent with the teams design and show the description of the game, screenshots, and a link to a video showing the game being played using their design. By the time I finished my role it was the last day, since time was short the team assigned me to bug fixing instead of adding more features.
